Patio Re-screening New Model

We know from experience that pool cages progressively deteriorate over the years, damaging the home’s aesthetic and even posing significant safety risks. With regards to the aesthetic, the fabric’s paint deteriorates to the point of coming off and dirtying the entire enclosure with small rust particles that easily create stains in the pool and its surroundings. In addition, the corrosion can become dangerous because the screws, cables, and anchorages rust and fail, causing the aluminum structure to become weak and vulnerable to winds.

New Model Rescreening and Painting is a company that specializes in restoring pool cages and we recommend our clients to renovate their pool cages to look better than they did to begin with, before having to invest double to construct everything anew.

New Model Rescreening and Painting

New Model Rescreening and Painting specialize in pool cage painting & screen enclosure restoration in Florida. For many years, serving homeowners has perfected the preparation and application necessary to create a lasting aluminum restoration procedure.

We’ve honed and crafted our technique, paint, and spray process to restore your home’s pool cage enclosure correctly. We’re the trusted source to restore and protect your pool area for years to come.

Our Process

Before painting your pool cage or screened lanai, we take the time to prepare our work to ensure lasting color and weather resistance. We guarantee our workmanship and paint. We offer competitive rates.

Our unique sprayers release more air than paint, thus cutting down on overspray on plants, decks, and other surrounding areas of the home and aluminum structure surroundings. We also take the time and care to protect these areas with light canvas.

We do this to ensure that all areas are free of unwanted paint and fumes. We don’t use plastic as it would kill the plants and isn’t environmentally responsible. Our company is a licensed contractor in the state of Florida as well. This is because we routinely remove and replace worn, rusted bolts and fasteners when refurbishing a pool cage structure.

Specializing in Pool Enclosure Refurbishing and Re-Painting

Here are a few of the steps that we take to ensure the proper painting of your pool cage and screen enclosure:

  • Preparing the pool cage is the first and most crucial aspect when painting a pool enclosure.

  • Removing old paint and build-up is imperative to an adequately refurbished pool cage. We start this process by pressure washing the cage with an industrial pressure washer using various tips. A turbo tip removes any loose paint (including paint, you may not see cracking and peeling). We use a standard 4-inch fan white tip, which will remove oxidation evenly. All oxidation and loose paint must be removed from your cage during this process. If not, your paint may not adhere correctly.

  • After pressure washing is complete and a decision has been made about the hardware (Bolts on the cage), all areas where loose paint has been removed will be wire wheeled and palm sanded. This is done so that the freshly painted cage has no sign of loose paint.

  • At this point, the pool cage is wiped down with a very light chemical and some water just to make sure every bit of loose debris has been removed.

  • The next step in this process is taping and masking of the entire cage area. This is a step in which an extensive amount of caution is taken to prevent over-spray and keep the non-painted areas free from the specialty paint we use on the cage surface.

  • The cage will dry completely to ensure it is ready for a fresh coat of specialized paint that is formulated to adhere to aluminum cages and lanais.

  • We have a large selection of bronze and earth tones, allowing us to match your newly painted pool cage with your natural surroundings (we also offer custom colors).

  • An important note is that we highly recommend hiring a licensed Florida Contractor when choosing to refurbish your enclosure. It’s also a good idea to check the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation to check the validity of a company’s license when hiring them to work on or around your home.

The Importance of Pool Enclosure

A pool enclosure offers so many benefits. It keeps your pool area cleaner, prevents insects from bugging the people enjoying your pool, provides a little privacy, and helps to keep your pool area more secure. With the right screen, it can even offer protection from the sun’s strong rays. However, nothing lasts forever.  Maybe a storm came through and tore down. You’ve screened the pool enclosure, or it’s just old and worn out.  That’s when a pool enclosure replacement is necessary.

Reasons for Pool Enclosure Restoration or Replacement

There are many reasons why you might need to restore or replace your pool enclosure. These include:

Storm damage. Florida’s notoriously high winds can tear screens or damage the structure itself, compromising the protection the enclosure offers. In some cases, you may be able to repair the damage; in others, replacement may make more sense.

Screen upgrades. Today’s screen is much more than plain wire mesh. Pool enclosure rescreening or the replacement of your enclosure allows you to upgrade your screens.

Freshening up. Like most outdoor structures, pool screen enclosures can get worn out and run down. Sometimes, their appearance no longer suits your tastes or the look of your property. Mold, corrosion, and wear and tear can also be factors. If your enclosure has seen better days, looks unappealing, or no longer meets your needs, then it may be time to replace it.

Common Screened in Pool Enclosure Repairs

When it comes to repairs, there are a few things that can be done. Screens repairs and complete pool enclosure rescreening may make it possible to revive battered screens. Failing cage components may be refreshed with paint or replaced, and worn hardware can be replaced. While these fixes may extend a pool enclosure’s life, sometimes pool enclosure replacement is a better option.

Things to Consider When Replacing a Pool Enclosure

Replacing a pool enclosure is much like installing a new pool enclosure. You’ll want to select an experienced contractor with knowledge and equipment to do the job correctly. If your existing screened in pool enclosure is more than 20 years old, you’ll be amazed at the new features available to homeowners to enhance their outdoor living area.

A custom enclosure can be designed to match your unique specifications, enhancing your pool area, and making it more enjoyable for you to use the space. You’ll also want to consider materials. Quality screens and building materials will result in a durable, attractive enclosure that you’ll be able to use for years.
